Are you shouting at the wrong people?
Graphic Design can help to sell your products by creating awareness, interest and action – to the right people!
Having the best product or the best service but shouting at the wrong people in the wrong place will not achieve the results you need. Even the best design will not get a return if it doesn’t create the right emotion or even get to interact with the right prospect.
Knowing what your best customer looks like helps!
What are they interested in, what is their pain or problem? Without knowing this information you can’t begin to educate them let alone convince them that it is your product they can’t live without. Great Graphic Design can only, truly, be effective with the right message for the right people. Therefore discovering your perfect customer is the first step to creating an effective and successful campaign.
Answer the questions above to begin to find out your target market and best customer. Then your objectives will be to create information in an easy to understand format that attracts and appeals to your target audience. You want to be found, seen and remembered. You want to become known for your expertise and knowledge of the product or service you are promoting.
Successful Graphic Design transforms information so that is easy to read, communicates a strong message, attracts and creates awareness.
Essentially being seen everywhere your target audience goes, sees and reads will be more effective than one leaflet or one advert. The marketing mix is crucial and all media should be used if possible! One ad will not suffice. One leaflet will not continue to grow your business. When embarking on a business you have to invest in marketing and design to promote yourself in the right way to the right client over a certain period of time.
- Great headlines
- Interesting content
- Attractive graphics
- Good quality print!
Many people make the mistake of making their logo as large as possible rather than explaining what they do. It’s what you can do for the customer that they will be interested in. Until you prove yourself brand loyalty will not really enter into the buying decision, even if it is on recommendation. However recognition is still important but don’t fill up the precious space with a huge logo when you can inform and educate.
Saying that, too many offers and messages will confuse and be messy! Keep an eye on some white space and remember less is more! Too much text in small sizes with no images is hard to read and bores the reader. Break it up use sub titles and bullet points.
Think powerful imagery! A picture or infographic will attract the eye far quicker than text tht features targeted concise information. Think about what your customer needs to solve a problem, how can you hit the nail on the head?
If they just want to hang a picture, they need something to hang it on. Therefore they ‘need’ a hammer that will knock in ‘nails’. The ‘nails’ need to be ‘strong enough’ to hold the picture up. It makes no difference to them if the hammer is red or the nails are made of steel as long as they will do the job. Finding out what the customer actually wants and how they will benefit from your product will help you create the content that will attract them.
Not too many fonts, three at most. A nice colour pallet making sure you use your branded colours. Creating association with you and your business at every stage is vital.
If the product you are selling is a common one you need to make sure they will remember who told them about it and not mistake you for your competitor! Consistency in branding is more important that the size of your logo. Whenever your literature is seen it should be the same colours and use the same fonts. Recognition and association will create awareness of who you are and where to find you.
Keep an eye on what your competitors are doing and make sure you are doing it better.
Be seen in several places using different media exposure. Use the same advert for a leaflet and vice versa. It’s more economical to change a few elements than recreate the whole design. Use it or part of it online, create a special page on your website and include links to it, write a blog and link to it. Create and send as a newsletter or email marketing, add it to your business page on Facebook or Linkedin posts.
Graphic Design is an investment not an expense. Used wisely and effectively very easily to get the results you want.
